The first show for the new play by Rabih Mroueh will be in Tokyo’s international theather festival held in Tokyo, the play consists of four characters playing the roles of four martyrs of the Lebanese Civil war who come back to life and witness and comment on the several bloody incidents that occured since then and till now.

It sounds like a real nice play, it will be shown in Beirut after Tokyo and then in Paris but no dates were specified in the article.

It says here that the play will annoy a lot of politicians, if not all of them. This play is also meant to show how ugly the civil war is and how no one is realizing we might be at the verge of a new war in few months if not weeks..

Biggest Library in the Middle East .. In Baalbeck

in the late afternoon

The man has over a million books in his library, he has been collecting books about everything since he was 7 years old back in 1925 !!!

Abdo Mourtada el Husseini died a month ago.

He refused all offers to sell the Library and move it to Beirut, he got an offer from the Kuwaiti government, and another from Rafiq el Hariri, but he refused them and insisted the library stays in Baalbeck.

There was an article about him in Al-Akhbar today.

Bomb in a Chips potato bag

March 13, 2007 just before lunchtime

How creative can they get ?

Placing a bomb in a chips.

Lebanese Internal Security Forces (ISF) said that they have thwarted an explosion attempt in the southern port city of Sidon, local media reported.

The suspect carrying the bomb in a potato chips bag was arrested at local time 8:00 p.m. (1800 GMT) on Sunday, the ISF said in a statement published by local newspapers on Monday.

The 200-gram TNT bomb, which was defused by an ISF expert, was set to explode at 9:30 p.m. (1930 GMT) on the same day, the statement added.

The Naharnet news website quoted police sources as saying the suspect was a Palestinian and identified him as Walid Moustafa.

It said Moustafa was arrested shortly after he left the Ein el- Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp near Sidon.

Meanwhile, the National News Agency said Monday that Lebanese troops found a mortar shell fastened to a rocket propelled grenade outside Ansariya School in the southern town of Nabatiyeh.

It said the army’s engineering unit safely dismantled the grenade.

The Lebanese authorities have seized large amounts of weapons and explosives in recent weeks.

Another Hezbollah lie revealed …

March 4, 2007 in the late evening

Manar TV is running out of stories, so the only alternative is making up stories …

This was posted on the FTV television after the incidents at the Arab university.

A young man in the Civil Defense of a Charitable Islamic group and who has worked hard throughout the July war becomes a personal bodyguard for Hariri and a militia leader according to Manar ..

You judge for yourself.

Hezbollah harrassing Christians in the South ?

in the late evening
I just heard from a friend that Hezbollah is harrassing Christians in the South, they are coming with lists to the towns and accusing the villagers of getting armed and acquiring weapons ..
I was told this happened a week ago or more, but i prefer not mentioning the village name until stories are confirmed.

Hezbollah has harassed the Christian villages mainly those near the borders for years now, such acts dont surprise me to be honest .. and if it happens to be true, the argument would be Israeli agents infiltrated the village

Batrak Sfeir is worried …

February 27, 2007 around lunchtime

… and has every right to be worried !

What is happening now is like the calmness before the storm, all politicians fortifying their strongholds, arming their men, raising their speeches and tensions.

What are we waiting for to dialogue again ?? The traffic of weapons is becoming so popular its insane, i hear everyday from friends about this guy who got a new Mp5 or Glocks for sale or M16 etc etc …

The old man always speaks wisely, but no one to listen ! The LF should back him up, not just in speeches but through actions ..
