Dear Mark

This is what happens when your pet stays with me:

It seems like I am heading towards the Nano.

The touch wows me because it looks so shiny and new but would I really be using it?

Let’s just the set record straight: I want a portable music player.  I don’t want something where I can watch shows or view pictures.  I carry my 12 inch powerbook with me almost everywhere I go and I rather watch shows, view pics, and browse the net on a 12 inch monitor than from an iPod!

Also, the place I use the iPod the most is in the car. How practical is the touch when driving?  Ramadan is coming up, which is my jogging season… how practical is it to run around with the touch?

The Nano seems to be a better option for me in the sense of what is it that I need.

Which iPod to get?

I want to buy a new iPod but the choice is difficult.

The 8GB nano is being sold for $199. It is small, and has enough space for my music since I don’t like carrying all my music with me.

The 80GB iPod is being sold for $249. It has more space but is a lot more bulkier.

The 8 GB iPod touch is being sold for $299. The 16 GB iPod touch is being sold for $399.

Here is how things get tricky for me:

8 GB is more than sufficient for me to carry around so that would take me to the nano ($199) or the touch ($299). $100 is not such a big deal. So, how practical is the touch for me? My iPod mini is scratched all over, mainly on the screen. Would the touch last with me? I don’t think so… but it looks soooo nice. Let’s just say, I do get the nano, $199 for 8 GB whereas I would feel slightly cheated since I can get the 80 GB classic for $249! It’s just $50 difference… but it’s so bulky.

Should I choose on looks? practicality? space?

The touch makes me sigh. The nano is so nice and small to carry around. Yet, the only place I do use my iPod is in the car and when I travel. Does looks and size matter? It’s a difficult choice for me.

I shall think about it throughout the weekend.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but personally I am sick of watching and listening to our disgusting Lebanese politics.
Sometimes I would be watching and for a second I think, hmmm this guy is talking some sense and then he switches 180 degrees and talks in an extreme manner that is just gross and I can’t believe they actually talk like that so openly!

I can’t remember when was the last time I really enjoyed listening to any one of our politicians.

One of the politicians recently wondered how can someone be neither March 8th or March 14th. He said you can either be with or against their beliefs and goals. He added all those in between (he was talking about Presidential candidates in general) are nobodies but with all due respect to all of them (called them nobodies but was respectful about it! ROFL). What sort of logic is that?

I was with the March 14th movement since I did believe in the revolution they represented and the changes they demanded. I would like to remind such politicians or thinkers that it is the 1.5 million (as claimed) people who were in the square on March 14th that created something called March 14th. People traveled a long way within Lebanon, several traveled to Lebanon, just to be part of this great revolution.

Do you think that March 14th was incapable of accomplishing 90% of their goals because March 8th did not allow them to do so?

The revolution has dried out. Peoples’ lives in Lebanon is the same as it always has been. Insecure, instable, and fearful of the next day.

Let me know what you think… Do you believe things will change in Lebanon anytime soon for the people?

While people are celebrating a victory in North Lebanon, and Kuwait is in shock over Zain, and parents trying to get back into the school schedules, I selfishly continue with my diet, completing 3 weeks. I have just dropped another kg. I remain bloated.

I smoked a lot today. I finished a pack of cigs in 24 hours. The most I have smoked in a while. I have had 7 cups of coffee and an extremely busy day at work. I only managed to eat fatayer. One labneh, and one zaatar with less than 250 ml of diet pepsi.

An extremely unhealthy day.

I know I haven’t been posting as much as I should on this topic but I recently have lost the will to write any posts.

On Thursday, I had fried breaded shrimps with french fries for lunch and some sushi for dinner. I maybe had 4 cups of turkish coffee to drink and probably half a packet of cigarettes.

On Friday, I had a huge lunch. Toast and butter, crab soup, prawn spring rolls, fish fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. In the evening I had a turkey and cheese sandwich with french fries followed by 2 duppio. I smoked around 6 cigarettes.

On Saturday, I had seafood pasta for lunch and some orange chocolate chip cookies for snacks. I had one turkish coffee and 1 camomile. I smoked 2 cigarettes.

I have been feeling bloated the past few days. Urgh!

First Weekend

We finally adjusted our weekend to Friday-Saturday weekend instead of Thursday Friday. We used to work half days on Thursdays so now we have full 2 days off. I have to say, I felt the weekend was long but I can totally get adjusted to 2 days off which I also must say makes a world of a difference.

With two day weekends, I can take care of myself, spend time with family, spend time with friends, run errands and relax. When I just had Fridays off, I used to feel that I had to do everything in that one day!

I was a good girl on D.D.14. Well, not so bad… I had fried squids at around 6pm. I didn’t drink much coffee but smoked around half a packet of cigarettes.

Today, I was a bad girl but I deserved it. I had a long day running around at work. I had lunch at Johnny rockets. Double rocket burger, onion rings, and coke. I had 5 cigarettes today which was better than the past few days and only had 3 cups of turkish coffee. I must have drank around 3L of water though!! What’s with the heat and humidity?!! 50oC!!!!
