If the artist's intent is to prevent further cruelty on a much larger scale then, from a consequentialist and utilitarian POV, aren't his actions potentially 'good'? From that same POV, many people are here are obliged to explain how their deliberate failure to prevent more animal cruelty is exempt. Personally, I think it's cruel and quite horrid but that doesn't prevent it from being 'art'.
